Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 August 2026

This policy explains what data the Boostr - Daily Motivation app collects, why, who it is shared with, and what your rights are. We limit collection to what is strictly necessary for the app to work.

1. Data controller

Publisher: Cyril Bellamy
Contact: c.bellamy.dev@gmail.com

2. Data we collect

a. Account

On first launch, an anonymous account is created automatically (a technical identifier). By default we ask for neither an e-mail nor a password: no data identifies you by name.

b. Questionnaire answers (onboarding)

To personalize the lines you are shown, you can provide:

Every question can be skipped. You can change your first name and gender in the app settings, and retake the whole questionnaire at any time (Settings → “Redo the quiz”).

c. Preferences and usage

d. Technical data

e. Purchases

If you subscribe, the transaction is handled by Google Play and your subscription status by RevenueCat. We receive your subscription state (active / trial / expired), but never your bank details, which stay with Google.

3. Why (purposes) and legal basis

4. Sensitive data and minors

Boostr may be used by people aged 13 to 17. For these users, collection is reduced: the questions about relationship status and relationship to religion are not asked, and the corresponding answers are not stored. The question about professional situation only offers answers relevant to their age. The same applies when the age range has not been provided.

Your relationship to religion is sensitive data within the meaning of Article 9 of the GDPR. It is asked only of adults, with their explicit consent, remains optional, is used solely to refine the content shown, and can be deleted at any time.

We run no advertising at all, targeted or otherwise, and the app uses no advertising identifier.

5. Who your data is shared with

We do not sell your data. It is processed by technical sub-processors, solely to run the service:

Some of these providers (Google, RevenueCat) may process data outside the European Union, under appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses).

6. Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. Uninstalling the app erases the data stored on your device, but does not delete your hosted account: to do that, you need to send us a request (see section 8). Any deletion request is processed within 30 days. Data tied to a legal obligation (invoicing) may be kept longer.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. To exercise them, write to us at c.bellamy.dev@gmail.com.

8. Delete your data

You can at any time request deletion of your account and your data by writing to the address above; the request is processed within 30 days. Uninstalling the app erases the data stored locally on your device, but it is not enough to delete your account: the e-mail request is still required.

9. This website

This showcase site uses no tracking cookies. Two processing operations do however take place simply by visiting it:

10. Complaint

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority - in France, the CNIL.

11. Changes

This policy may change. The last-updated date at the top of the page indicates the version in force.
